About the programme

The three-year bachelor programme Agricultural Machinery and Technology prepares graduates who will have a quality and broad theoretical basis and at the same time practical skills in the field of agricultural technology and related technologies. Upon successful completion of their studies, graduates can start directly in practice or continue their studies in the follow-up master's degree program in Agricultural Machinery and Technology, which is accredited at the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice. The composition of study subjects is chosen so that the graduate has the knowledge and skills that reflect the current trends of intensive penetration of electronics and automation into agricultural operations in the sense of Industry 4.0. These are, for example, semi- or fully automated systems for managing activities in the company, milking robots, automated systems for guiding agricultural machinery during field work, etc. Graduates will gain skills that are closely related to real operation. Therefore, during the study the student intensively meets with representatives of agricultural enterprises, manufacturers and sellers of agricultural machinery, for example in professional seminars with representatives from practice or in operational and professional practice in enterprises. In cooperation with the company, he usually also prepares qualification work. The study program is taught in Czech. The foreign applicant has the opportunity to take Czech language course for the first time and thus obtain a certificate of knowledge of the Czech language, at least category B1. An intensive Czech course for foreigners is provided by the Faculty of Arts of the University of South Bohemia in Č. Budějovice, Department of Czech Studies. A similar course is also organized by Charles University in Prague, the Institute of Language and Vocational Training, the Poděbrady and Mariánské Lázně study centers. The second option is often used by so-called government scholarship holders, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic.
