On 17 May 2024 a delegation from the West Ukrainian National University (WUNU), Ternopil, visited the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice. The WUNU Rector Professor Oksana Desyatnyuk, the Vice-Rector for Scientific Research Mr. Mykola Dyvak and the Dean of the Faculty of Computer Information Technologies of WUNU Mr. Ihor Yakymenko visited the University.
The meeting with representatives of the management and faculties of the University of South Bohemia (see below) started with introductions of the participants and presentations of both universities, followed by a discussion on the possibilities of deepening cooperation especially in the field of student mobility and the offer of studies for incoming Ukrainian students at the University of South Bohemia.
The participants also talked about the upcoming ACIT 2024 conference, which will take place on 19-21 September 2024 in České Budějovice. This conference is coorganised by WUNU and USB together with other major foreign universities and provides a space for sharing information and knowledge among researchers, academics, experts and students from various technical disciplines with interdisciplinary interests in the field of information technology, computer science, artificial intelligence, information in economics and management, cyber security, etc. The meeting was also attended by Mr. Libor Dostálek, one of the honorary chairmen of the international committee of the ACIT conference.
During the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed and both universities expressed their interest in expanding cooperation in other areas and fields.
