On Tuesday, 30 January, representatives of the management of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice (USB) welcomed the Deputy Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, Prof. Mgr. Jaroslav Miller, MA, Ph.D. He discussed the strategy of the development of higher education in the Czech Republic with the representatives of the management.
During his visit, Prof. Miller participated in a training session on school safety and security with the Police of the Czech Republic for members of the Rector's Board and other senior staff of the University. The Ministry of Education is paying close attention to this issue following the events at the Faculty of Arts in December. At the meeting of the Rector's Board, together with the statutory deputy rector of USB, the Deputy Minister of Education presented appointment decrees to the Vice-Rector doc. Ing. Luďek Berec, Dr., the appointment decrees to the newly elected Dean of the USB Faculty of Theology doc. Michal Opatrný, Dr. theol., and the re-elected Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Technology doc. RNDr. Petr Bartoš, Ph.D.
