On behalf of the USB Rector Pavel Kozák and the management of the University of South Bohemia, please accept our invitation to the Advent Concert of the University of South Bohemia in the Cathedral Church of St. Nicholas in České Budějovice on Tuesday, 10 December 2024 at 19:00.

About Carmína:
The youth and children's choir CARMÍNA from České Budějovice represents the Czech Republic, the South Bohemian Region and the Statutory City of České Budějovice. It brings together children and young people from kindergartens, primary, secondary and university schools from České Budějovice and its surroundings, aged from 2.5 to 28 years. At present it has 8 departments in which 280 children and students sing. It operates under the head of the J. Š. Baara, where it continues the tradition of school choirs founded in 1970. In 1997 the school choir was named Carmína, in 2005 the Carmína concert choir was founded and the successful concert history of this ensemble began to be written.
The Carmina Concert Choir has historically won 8 Grand Prix from international competitions and festivals (Georgia, Italy, France, Germany, Russia, Sweden, Finland, Estonia). It has won the Gold Trophy from the USA - New York, Carnegie Hall and Gold Diplomas from domestic, international competitions (Lithuania, Russia, Montenegro, Belgium) and online competitions in 2020 (Japan, China, USA, Israel). It collaborates with classical and popular music artists. She won the title "Discovery of the Year 2020" in the Soulful Competition festival in Moscow /Russia/.
Carmína works under the direction of choirmaster Mgr. Jitka Šimková (it has won several awards at international competitions and festivals: Czech Republic, Italy, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, USA, Israel, China, Japan), accompanied on the piano by concert pianist Sergey Perepeliatnyk (received several piano awards for piano accompaniments at international competitions: Czech Republic, Italy, Lithuania, Malta, USA, Israel, China, Japan).
