7th International Staff Week
November 25th-29th, 2019: the 7th edition of International Staff Week at the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice was held in the last week of November, just at the time when the beautiful Advent atmosphere starts in České Budějovice.
During the 7th International Staff Week we had the pleasure to host 18 colleagues from 14 different universities and 10 different countries - Estonia, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Spain and Turkey. Most of the participants were employees of International offices or academics involved in international affairs of their institution.
During the week, participants had the opportunity to get to know the variety of our faculties and projects. For instance, they enjoyed the concert of the students of the Faculty of Theology singing traditional Rorate caeli (Catholic advent texts) and the guided tour of České Budějovice by a historian of the Faculty of Arts. They discovered the process of making dairy products and plant growing at the Faculty of Agriculture, or the aquaponic glasshouse of the Faculty of Fisheries and Protection of Waters. Very enriching was certainly the meeting with students and researchers from Papua New Guinea who presented their work and the cooperation with the Faculty of Science.
We also had time to learn from each other and share experience during workshops dedicated to current topics on Digitalisation & Erasmus without papers, Cooperation with Erasmus Student Network and Double and Joint degrees. Workshops were interactively designed for opening discussions and sharing practical experience within International Office agenda.
The whole week program was enriched by the networking reception at the mini-brewery Čtyrák at our Faculty of Agriculture, the guided visit in UNESCO city of Český Krumlov, and the active participation of our international and local students, who shared their own experience and stories about studying and living in České Budějovice.
Cordial thanks to all our guests, students and colleagues whose enthusiasm and professional approach made the 7th International Week very enriching and inspiring!
