Representatives of partner universities from the KreativEU project got acquainted with the beauties and flavors of South Bohemia

The cultural and gastronomic treasures of the South Bohemia Region have been admired since Monday, March 10, by representatives of partner universities, which, together with USB, are members of the prestigious European alliance KreativEU. Throughout the week-long program, they will visit not only České Budějovice but also places such as Hluboká nad Vltavou and Třeboň. Guests will explore cultural and historical landmarks and events, including the Hluboká Castle, Bertiny Spa in Třeboň, and an ethnographic lecture on customs and traditional Czech dishes at the South Bohemian Museum in České Budějovice. The journey also includes tastings of typical South Bohemian delicacies – featuring fish, game, and beer from the university brewery. The goal is to introduce university partners to the region through traditional gastronomy within the historical context of agricultural and landscape development in South Bohemia.

At the same time, the University of South Bohemia hosted the first management meeting of KreativEU this week. On Wednesday, March 12, members of the Managing Board met on USB's premises, where USB was represented by Vice-Rector for International Relations, Vladimír Žlábek. In the Steering Committee, the University of South Bohemia is represented by Radka Závodská, who played a key role in USB's membership in the KreativEU alliance.

The Managing Board elected Célio Marques, Vice-President of the Portuguese university IPT, as its chairman. The project manager of the European Commission, Ana Sofia, joined the Steering Committee meeting and responded to the questions raised. The next Steering Committee meeting is scheduled for June and will take place at the OUTech university in Opole, Poland.
