The University of South Bohemia has published a list of candidates for the post of Rector

The Election Committee of the Academic Senate of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice published the list of candidates agreeing to run for the post of Rector for the period 2024–2028 at 12 noon today.

On 26 September 2023, the Academic Senate of the University of South Bohemia announced the election of a candidate for the position of Rector of the University of South Bohemia in accordance with Section 9(1)(h) of Act No 111/1998 (Act on Higher Education), as amended and Article 13 of the Rules of Procedure of the Academic Senate of the University of South Bohemia. Any member of the academic community of the University of South Bohemia, i.e. a student or an academic staff member, could submit written proposals for candidates until 10 October 2023 in accordance with Article 4 of the Statute of the University of South Bohemia. After the consent of the proposed candidates for the post of Rector was expressed, the Senate published the list of candidates on 17 October 2023 at 12 noon.

Any member of the USB academic community may submit written comments on the published list and the proposed candidates to the Senate until 24 October 2023 at 12 noon. This will be followed by the presentation of the candidates to the members of the USB Academic Senate and then the presentation of the candidates at the USB Academic community assembly. This will take place on 7 November 2023.

The election of the candidate for the post of Rector for the period 2024–2028 will take place at the meeting of the Academic Senate of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice on 14 November 2023.

The term of office of the current Rector, Prof. Bohumil Jiroušek, PhD, ends on 31 March 2024.
