Informace o studiu

Doctoral students are expected to participate in the activities of one of our laboratories or other workplaces, and to work on the topic of their dissertation. They receive regular scholarship allowances, and at the same time they are part-time employees of the university with a minimum workload (FTE) of 0.1. In some cases, the workload may be extended to 1. The average monthly income of a doctoral student is CZK 17,000 to CZK 20,000. The Protection of Aquatic Ecosystems doctoral study programme is strongly research-oriented. Working in research laboratory teams, the students are expected to further explore the topic of their dissertation and participate in the activities of their research laboratory and the entire faculty. They must demonstrate all the skills that are essential for their future career as top-level scientists or experts: independence, ability to communicate with colleagues at home and abroad, communication in English, ability to learn new things, and ability to write high-quality scientific publications as the first author, present their results internationally and discuss them, as well as acquire the necessary skills associated with pedagogical competencies. Students are also motivated to practice the ability to design a research project within the framework of the USB Grant Agency and, if granted funding, to independently implement the project and use the allocated financial support as planned. Apart from theoretical research, the study programme also aims to deepen students' practical experience.
