About the programme

The aim of the study is to educate students to acquire these skills and knowledge:
  • The ability to select adequate methods for obtaining economic, demographic and other appropriate data and the ability to choose methods for their processing, including the ability to use specialised or universal statistical software.
  • The knowledge of working with databases and the ability to perform advanced data processing and reporting. The ability to perform advanced programming of software management systems.
  • The ability to manage staff or teams and the ability to apply human resources management.
  • The knowledge of basic economic theories.
  • The knowledge of business/government regulations.
  • The knowledge of management approaches with emphasis on process management, and knowledge of financial management.
  • The ability to apply risk management at an enterprise or institutional level.
  • The ability in advanced planning and project management in the region.

Programme structure

The curriculum is designed as follows: compulsory courses in the volume of 93 credits are oriented towards database systems, modelling of economic phenomena, practical statistics. The individual courses then profile students in subjects related to management, corporate finance and regional studies in their various applications by choosing one compulsory elective block. For other compulsory elective subjects, there is no compulsory minimum and for elective courses there is a minimum of 3 credits. The state final examination consists of two compulsory subjects: Economics (where the sub-subjects are Microeconomics II, Macroeconomics II) and Statistical Methods in Economics (where the sub-courses are Statistical Modelling and Time Series Analysis, Stochastic Models in Economics). Compulsory elective courses of the state final examinations according to the field of study are as follows: Business Management, Financial Risks and Regional Financial Management. The student always chooses one of these compulsory elective subjects of the final state examination. The Sub-electives of the subject Business Management are Process Management, Change and Innovation Management. The subcomponents of the subject Financial risks are Corporate Finance II, International Finance. The sub-components of the course Regional Management are Regional Management 2, Demographic Methods and Analysis.

Graduate profile

    The graduate will deepen the knowledge, skills and abilities acquired in the Bachelor's degree programme, thus mastering managerial methods of managing relevant resources (financial, human, material), is able to choose and apply appropriate analytical and statistical methods for data collection and processing, including the use of appropriate information systems and technologies (ICT). He/she is able to independently plan the activities of work teams and manage the implementation of projects, carry out control activities, propose measures for the organisational units concerned and manage relevant projects within change management.
    Graduate destinations include:
  • risk manager,
  • business analyst,
  • analyst in public administration,
  • head of application systems administration.

How to apply

The entrance examination will be oral. Mathematics and statistics (the scope corresponds to Financial Mathematics, Decision Models, Probability Theory and Statistics), English language (B1 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages is assumed).
