ABC Challenge 2024 at the University of South Bohemia has officially started!
Since 1 June 2024, staff, students, alumni and partners of the University have been enthusiastically collecting the first kilometres for the ABC Challenge cycling challenge, the official launch of which took place yesterday, 3 June 2024 at 14:00, when more than 50 enthusiasts from the University and its partners gathered in front of the Rectorate to support the challenge by riding together.
The ride was opened with a speech by the Rector of the University of South Bohemia, prof. Ing. Pavel Kozák, Ph.D., who welcomed not only the representatives of the USB management and individual faculties, but also the Mayor of České Budějovice Dagmar Škodová Parmová and representatives from the partners of the University of South Bohemia and the riders of the ČEZ Group team. The opening ride was also attended by the management and members of the Autis Centrum České Budějovice, which will use the proceeds of this year's fundraising appeal to contribute to recovery stays and suburban summer camps for children with autism. The motivation for all participants was not only exercise and healthy lifestyle, but also the desire to do something beneficial for society. The route of this 'peloton' led from the University to the Kněžínek microbrewery, where small refreshments were prepared for the riders.
We want to thank all those who came with us to the opening ride and contributed to the pleasant and informal atmosphere of the event. Thanks also go to the USB Faculty of Health and Social Sciences for their medical supervision of the ride.
The cycling ABC Challenge is taking place at USB for the entire month of JUNE 2024, allowing all riders involved to ride as many kilometres as possible for a good cause.
Thank you for being part of ABC for the University of South Bohemia!
