Professor Iva Stuchlíková from the USB Faculty of Education received the award for lifetime contribution to science from the Minister of Education Mikuláš Bek

The Milada Paulová Prize bears the name of a prominent Czech historian and Byzantologist of the 20th century, the first appointed professor. The Minister awards it to a woman scientist for her outstanding contribution to science and the development of the field. Professor Iva Stuchlíková works at the Department of Psychology at the Faculty of Education and has long been involved in research on the professional development of teachers and on issues of motivation and emotions. She deals with aspects of human behaviour and experience, both in terms of general and pedagogical psychology. She also focuses on issues of general psychological literacy. For her work on the formulation of the Czech educational policy strategy, she was awarded the Medal of the Ministry of Education. At the Faculty of Education, she was involved in the establishment of the Department of Psychology, and today she serves as the Vice-Dean for Science, Creative Activities and Concept of Doctoral Studies and Director in Charge of the School of Doctoral Studies.
In 2008-2016 she was a member of the Accreditation Commission of the Czech Republic and chair of the permanent working group for pedagogy, psychology and kinanthropology. In 2013-2017 she served as the President of the Union of Psychological Associations of the Czech Republic. Since 2013 she has been a member of the Board of Educational Affairs of the European Federation of Psychologist Associations. She is currently the Shadow President of the European Society for Psychology Learning and Teaching. Since 2017 she is a member of the Editorial Board of The ESERA Book Series, Springer and a member of the Executive Editorial Board of Pedagogika. She is the recipient of many professional awards - in 2003 she received the Early Career Award of The Stress and Anxiety Research Society and in 2016 the Silver Medal of the Ministry of Education for her work for quality in higher education. She is the author of more than one hundred professional publications. 
Through the Milada Paulová Prize, the Ministry wishes to draw attention to the contributions of women scientists in the Czech Republic and to inspire women to pursue a career in science. The prize is awarded each year in a different research area.
