The International Day of the Number π was celebrated at the Department of Mathematics, FEC USB.

On March 14th, mathematicians celebrate International Mathematics Day, dedicated to the number Pi. At the Faculty of Education of the University of South Bohemia, the day was marked by introducing this fascinating number to elementary school students through experimental methods. Guests got to try out experiments and calculations, ranging from Archimedes' methods and Buffon's needle to the Monte Carlo method. They also learned about the history of estimating the value of Pi.

The celebration was attended by 211 guests, including pupils, teachers, students, alumni, and academics. The program, experiments, and refreshments were prepared by mathematics students from the Faculty of Education, who used this event as an opportunity to prepare for their future teaching careers.
