University of South Bohemia signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with MENDELU

The Rector of the University of South Bohemia Pavel Kozák signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Rector of Mendel University in Brno Jan Mareš on the 50th anniversary year of the Země živitelka trade fair and exhibition. The two universities have already started closer cooperation during the preparation of the National Renewal Plan project aimed at promoting green skills and sustainability at universities. Now they continue to actively exchange experiences. This cooperation is planned until at least 2030, the end of the sustainability of the projects, with the possibility of further extension of the memorandum.

"Our cooperation includes a number of activities related to the development of a sustainability and social responsibility strategy and standards, defining the role of the sustainability manager and anchoring this position in the university environment. Furthermore, new study programmes and lifelong learning courses in this field are being developed, where both universities exchange experiences, provide expertise, mentoring or consultation. I am very pleased that the project's outputs will be useful not only to the academic community, but also especially to students, who can look forward to interesting courses and even to a new interfaculty study programme," said Michal Hojdekr, Bursar of the University of South Bohemia, who is also the principal investigator of some of the project's key activities.
