About the programme

The curriculum emphasizes courses that create a more permanent foundation of economic and managerial knowledge (in particular economics, business economics, management, marketing, finance, business) as well as subjects applying theoretical knowledge in the area of the main expected application (Operational Management, Firm I and II, Retail and Wholesale Operations, Quality Management). The composition of the curriculum also reflects the need for analytical skills of graduates so that they are able to use relevant statistical and mathematical data to support managerial decision-making (Mathematics for Economists, Probability Theory and Statistics 1 and 2) and learn to work with enterprise information systems (Management Informatics 1, Basics of Enterprise Information Systems). Some courses are offered in English, thus improving students' language skills. Students will complement their studies according to their interests in the choice of subjects leading to the selection of compulsory electives State Final Examination - Operations Management or Business. Emphasis is placed on active forms of study of the study process, which lead to the acquisition of practical skills on the basis of the connection of theoretical teaching with the participation of managers and economists from the business sector in the classroom, solving case studies and project-based learning. A creative approach to problem solving is encouraged, particularly in the elaboration of the chosen topic of the Bachelor's thesis and within the professional practice. The programme is based on the needs of the practice and responds, among other things, to the requirements related to the preparation of students for the newly developing concept of Industry 4.0.

Programme structure

The academic orientation of the degree programme is reflected in the emphasis placed on the following knowledge (relevant subjects listed in brackets):
  • theoretical basis of a university-educated economist and manager (Microeconomics I, Macroeconomics I, Management),
  • knowledge and skills in finance and business economics (Business Finance I, Business Economics),
  • analytical ability and skill in the use of relevant mathematical and statistical methods to support managerial decision-making (Probability Theory and Statistics 1, 2, Mathematics for Economists),
  • creative approach to problem solving while applying a relevant methodological approach to the chosen topic (Bachelor Thesis I, II, Professional Practice, Company I, II).

How to apply

Admissions without the need to take an entrance exam. The ranking of applicants is determined on the basis of the average grade in high school. Information on the current admission procedure is available here.
