About the programme
The study program Protection of Waters combines knowledge from general subjects with a professional and practical technological focus in the given area. The graduate masters the basic university issues of theoretical subjects of science, which is further developed in the profiling areas of chemistry and ecology of the aquatic environment, legislative protection and use of water within the EU, technological elements of wastewater treatment, water management, water management, water structures, understanding the physical properties of water in different environments, the water cycle in the landscape, the influence of climate on the amount of water in the landscape and the trophy of the environment and, last but not least, related fishing issues.
Programme structure
The bachelor's degree provides a basis in the field of chemistry, ecology, legislative protection and use of water within the EU, wastewater treatment, water supply, water management, management and fisheries. See study plan here (in Czech only).
Graduate profile
Students learn to:
basic knowledge of aquatic ecology, legislative protection and water use within the EU,
use technological elements of wastewater treatment, water supply, water management or water structures,
understand the physical properties of water in different environments, the water cycle in the landscape, the influence of climate on the amount of water in the landscape and the trophy of the environment,
to be familiar with the legislation and related issues of fisheries.
Graduates can become: independent Environmental Officer for Water Management,
independent Environmental Officer for Environmental Impact Assessment,
independent Water Management Technician,
independent hydrologist,
independent waterworks technician,
ecologist.
How to apply
The applicants are accepted without entrance exams. In the event that the number of applicants is higher than the number of admitted students, applicants are admitted on the basis of the order determined by the overall average from the study averages of individual high school certificates.
