About the programme

The aim of the study is to prepare graduates primarily for employment in the corporate sector. Graduates will be able to participate in the creation of an organization's information strategy, design IT services that optimally support business processes, design IS application and technology architecture, design and implement IT applications, design and manage IT projects, IT services and processes, and apply appropriate mathematical or statistical methods. The objectives and focus of the study are based on the needs related to the ongoing digitalization in industry, services and government organizations, including the related needs for information support for all processes of these organizations. Programme structure

The academic orientation of the degree programme is reflected in the emphasis placed on:
  • Theoretical subjects such as Mathematics seminar, Mathematics for Economists, Discrete Mathematics, Theoretical Informatics, Probability Theory and Statistics 1, Probability Theory and Statistics 2, Operating Systems, Database Systems, Object Oriented Programming, Microeconomics 1, Macroeconomics 1 and others.
  • In addition to these theoretical courses, there are also professionally oriented courses that expand and improve students' skills, primarily in the field of business information systems, but also in the field of the business environment. These are, for example, the subjects Basics of business IS, IS security and data protection, Design of websites and applications, and others. These subjects are included in line with the needs of employers and enable a flexible response to dynamic developments in the field of information systems.
  • Regular teaching is enriched by a number of outstanding lectures by distinguished visiting experts from other universities, including foreign ones, and from the corporate or government sector.
  • English language teaching is an important part of the curriculum. Many courses are offered in both Czech and English.

  • to develop IT applications including web and mobile applications,
  • to create and manage IT projects, IT services and processes and apply appropriate mathematical or statistical methods

How to apply

Admissions without the need to take an entrance exam. The ranking of applicants is determined on the basis of the average grade in high school. Information on the current admission procedure is available here.
