About the programme

DSP Agricultural Chemistry and Biotechnology is focused on providing comprehensive education, which focuses mainly on highly current topics in the field of agricultural chemistry, agricultural biotechnology and quality of agricultural products. Emphasis is placed on further development and training in the field of critical thinking, the ability to independently and comprehensively analyze professional information, design and implement experimental and theoretical work, as well as adequately evaluate and publish the results obtained. The doctoral study program is accredited in Czech, but it is also possible to complete it in English. The foreign applicant for this study program must be able to communicate in English in writing and in words.

How to apply

A necessary condition for admission to study is the successful completion of a master's degree program closely related to the focus of the DSP (i.e., especially accredited master's degree programs in agriculture, chemistry, biochemistry, and food science). An adequate level of knowledge from specialized subjects (chemistry of natural substances/analytical chemistry, cell and molecular biology/biotechnology or quality/processing of agricultural products) and English language are expected and tested during the admission procedure. Furthermore, motivation to actively deepen their knowledge and demonstration prerequisites for independent professional work.
The admission procedure takes the form of a commission examination, the content of which is a discussion about the applicant's previous scientific work, in particular his/her diploma thesis or publications, will make it possible to assess its preconditions for independent scientific and research activities. Students of the last year of a master's study program can also complete the admission procedure to study at DSP; the condition for their admission is the proper completion of the master's degree program.
