The Master's degree programme in Clinical Biology is directly related to the Bachelor's degree programme in Laboratory and Medical Biology. It is designed at the interface between biology and medicine, so it covers the fields of molecular biology, immunology, clinical biochemistry, haematology, medical virology and microbiology, pharmacology and toxicology or infectious medicine. It provides training for students in the knowledge and skills needed to perform even the most demanding procedures in clinical laboratories, to supervise undergraduate laboratory technicians and staff with secondary medical education. In addition, this program provides the knowledge to interpret laboratory findings and to manage the quality control of these laboratories, both in routine diagnostics and research. Graduates of the Clinical Biology programme, after completing the accredited qualification course "Professional medical laboratory methods", can therefore find employment in laboratory management positions (virology, immunology, haematology, medical genetics, clinical biochemistry, etc.), in pharmaceutical companies or in research.
