About the programme

The degree programme was created following the long-term efforts of the USB Faculty of Economics to internationalise studies based on long-term cooperation with partner universities Université de Bretagne-Sud (UBS) in France and Westsächsische Hochschule Zwickau (WHZ) in Germany. The creation and implementation of this degree programme are based, among other things, on the support of the German-French (French-German) University (DFH/UFA), which has long supported joint degree programmes of French and German universities.
The main benefit of this programme is the focus on the theory and practice of project management in the multicultural environment. The degree programme aims to deepen knowledge and skills in team management and leadership, project management in a multicultural or multilingual environment, and project management organised and supported at the European Union or member state level. Great emphasis is placed on multicultural communication and cooperation, which is the key to the successful application of theoretical knowledge of management in an international environment.

Programme structure

The basis and the specificity of instruction within this degree programme is the international teamwork in groups of students from different countries, with different mother tongues and cultures. The study groups include mainly students from the Czech Republic, France, Germany, and other countries.
Instruction takes place at individual partner universities. Therefore, the first semester is held in France, and the courses are taught in French. The second semester is held in Germany, and the courses are taught mainly in English, then in French, and it is possible to choose subjects taught in German. In the third semester, the instruction takes place at the USB Faculty of Economics in České Budějovice. The fourth semester is devoted to the preparation of a diploma thesis and professional practical training, which can take place in the countries of cooperating universities and other countries.

Graduate profile

    Graduates will develop advanced planning and design skills within EU countries, teamwork skills and team management from different linguistic and cultural backgrounds, ability to manage employees or teams and the ability to apply human resource management, the ability to apply approaches at the level of the company or institution in the interests of sustainable development at all levels, managerial methods and techniques with an emphasis on strategic management and process management, knowledge of legal regulations for the performance of the activities of a project manager in national and international cooperation projects.
    Graduate destinations include:
  • employers with national and international operations,
  • positions in cross-border and international cooperation projects,
  • multicultural working environment of non-profit organisations, development agencies,
  • project positions of self-governing institutions and business entities.

How to apply

The condition for admission to the programme is successful completion of an admission interview focused on the interest in the issues of the degree programme and language skills. Moreover, applicants must complete the electronic admission form and enclose a curriculum vitae and a motivation letter in English as well as proof of the achieved language level in English and French or other languages.

Proof of language proficiency according to CEFR:
  • English - B2 or higher
  • French - B2 or higher
  • German - A1 or higher
The existing proficiencies in English and French are essential for admission, however, in order to achieve the required level of the German language, applicants can be provided with a German language course, which may take place online and may start before the beginning of the semester.
