On Saturday 28 October we commemorated the establishment of the independent Czechoslovak state. Rector of the University of South Bohemia prof. PhDr. Bohumil Jiroušek, Dr., together with Vice-Rector for International Relations doc. Radka Závodská, Ph.D., Vice-Rector for Student Affairs Petr Bauman, Ph.D., and Vice-Rector for Science doc. Ing. Luďek Berec, Ph.D., paid tribute to the memory of the victims of the First and Second World War by laying a bouquet at the monument located near the University of South Bohemia. The monument was unveiled in 1920 and symbolizes the establishment of an independent Czechoslovakia in all dimensions.
