For almost a year, the Academic Library has been operating a classroom for e-athletes representing the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice. The classroom is equipped with 5 gaming computers. There are more and more options for the students and in addition to other necessary equipment, which will be expanded in the future, a new PlayStation has been purchased for the classroom.
Five groups of approximately five players regularly visit the room two to three times a week. ‘In order to improve communication between individual players, we have set up a server via the Discord platform,’ said Matěj Dynda from the Faculty of Education, who is a member of one of the gaming groups. Normally, students can play games like Counter Strike 2 or League of Legends on computers, but it is up to agreement.
"A new game challenge awaits us. We plan to join a league called G-SPORT," Dynda said, adding that it is a league organized by Charles University. "It is a combination of classic sports in various disciplines with e-sports," Dynda further added.
