Advent time brought a magical university concert in the church

The Advent concert of the University of South Bohemia on Tuesday 10 December brought a beautiful cultural and festive experience. St. Nicholas Cathedral was filled to the last seat. All those who came had a unique opportunity to stop for a moment in the pre-Christmas rush, to enjoy a precious moment with close people and above all an extraordinary singing performance of the České Budějovice youth choir Carmína.

Carmína brings together children and young people aged from 2.5 to 28 years and is one of the jewels of South Bohemia's music. Under the direction of choirmaster Jitka Šimková and concert pianist Sergey Perepeliatnyk, 85 members of this ensemble performed. The Carmína Concert Choir has had many international successes, including 8 Grand Prix, a gold trophy from Carnegie Hall in New York and gold diplomas from various competitions.

The evening was not only a musical experience, but also an opportunity to pause and reflect. Together we could look back on the past year and give thanks. During the speech of the USB Rector Pavel Kozák, wishes and hopes for the next year full of challenges at our university were also expressed.
