Faculty of Theology accredits new Master's programme Helping Professions in Civil Society

The USB Faculty of Theology has received accreditation for a new English-taught two-year Master's degree programme in Helping Professions in Civil Society.

The programme is focused on the development of civil society and is designed for graduates of bachelor's degree programmes in the field of helping professions. The curriculum includes social science, the history of the development of social thought, and philosophical background. Emphasis is placed on the experience of the transition processes of the post-communist countries of Central Europe, which can support the development of civil society in the EU candidate countries or in the so-called priority countries of the Czech Republic.

Graduates will learn to apply and adapt these theories in practice and acquire specific competences for ethically competent decision-making. The programme also includes intercultural communication, global competences, the study of related religious issues and the ethics of modern technologies. Graduates will be prepared to ethically and competently support the development of local communities and civil society, both in non-profit organizations and in government and local government.

Institutional accreditation of the programme has been granted for ten years.
