Intensive Czech course for foreigners started at the USB Faculty of Arts

At the Faculty of Arts of the University of South Bohemia, an Intensive Czech Language Course for Foreigners began on Monday, February 10. The afternoon course is part of the Lifelong Learning programmes and has primarily attracted students from Ukraine.

The course is designed to provide knowledge essential for students who are encountering Czech for the first time, enabling them to further develop their skills. It also aims to reinforce and improve the abilities of those who have already completed a basic course and need Czech either for their job or for future studies in the Czech Republic. Over the five-month-long course, participants, primarily from Ukraine but also from other countries, will complete approximately 320 hours of instruction. The students will be trained in areas and skills necessary for everyday communication as well as for taking standardized exams. A four-member team of experienced lecturers, composed of students and graduates from the Department of Czech Studies, will teach them four days a week. The classes take place directly in the Faculty of Arts building, in a modern, well-equipped classroom.

Interested participants can still enroll even after the course has started! The required entry level is A1/A2. The course's advantages include affordability and its consistent schedule, taking place weekly from Monday to Thursday in the afternoons and evenings (16:20–19:35) over the course of five months. Those interested in the course can register on the Faculty of Arts USB website HERE, where they can find all necessary information and contact details.
