The University of South Bohemia was visited on Monday 19 February 2024 by the Armenian Ambassador to the Czech Republic, His Excellency Mr. Ashot Hovakimian, accompanied by his wife Mrs. Anahit Hovakimian and the Embassy Secretary Mrs. Zoya Tovmasyan. He visited the University of South Bohemia as part of his visit to the South Bohemian Region and the city of České Budějovice.
The delegation was received at the Rector's Office of the University of South Bohemia by the Rector of the University of South Bohemia, prof. PhDr. Bohumil Jiroušek, Dr., together with the Vice-Rector for International Relations, doc. PaedDr. Radka Závodská, PhD., who opened the meeting by introducing the University of South Bohemia and the programmes offered to foreign students. During the discussion, they talked about the current cooperation of the University of South Bohemia with Armenian universities supported by the Erasmus+ programme, international relations with Armenia and the current international geopolitical situation. At the end of the meeting, the Ambassador signed the commemorative book.
The delegation concluded their visit with a tour of the USB Academic Library and a walk around the university campus with a symbolic stop at the Václav Havel bench.
