On Saturday, 1 June, the Run for the Rector's Cup of the University of South Bohemia took place. The event is a special category of the Mattoni 1/2Marathon České Budějovice 2024, where dozens of competitors from our University start every year. The best competitor in the men's category was Samson Koudelka with a time of 1:28:36, who placed 106th overall. The best female runner in the Run for the Rector's Cup was Barbora Havlíčková with a time of 1:29:40. She is 124th in the overall ranking. After the run itself, our winners were presented with prizes and cups signed by the Rector of the University of South Bohemia, prof. Ing. Pavel Kozák, Ph.D.
The University of South Bohemia has long been cooperating with the organizer of the competition and this year again participated in this prestigious event with the significant support of our Faculty of Health and Social Sciences. A total of 42 students of the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences of the University of South Bohemia provided professional medical services on the track, physiotherapy services for the competitors and the paramedics again rode their bikes to the event. Other students and lecturers provided advice to the public on healthy lifestyle and measurement of blood pressure and body fat at a stand on Přemysl Otakar II Square. In total, 32 students of the General Nursing programme, six future physiotherapists and four students of the Paramedic programme took part. They had to show a lot of professionalism: it takes a lot of courage to go on such a busy course, and any work with the public requires a lot of patience.
