Open science, shared data - EOSC CZ representatives presented development opportunities at USB

On 13 September 2024, the EOSC CZ Secretariat visited the University of South Bohemia. The aim of the visit was to share best practices and discuss the current state and future of open data in the Czech Republic. The programme included an introductory meeting with the academic community of USB, where the guests presented the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) initiative and its implementation in the Czech Republic, including the activities of the EOSC CZ Secretariat. Projects related to the OP JAK and the importance of the institutional data steward were also discussed.

Another part of the visit included meetings with representatives of JU faculties working on open science issues, with emphasis on the current state of open data at JU and possibilities for future development. The final meeting with the university management was devoted to strategic issues and possibilities of USB involvement in relevant programme calls. The University of South Bohemia considers open science and open data as a key area and highly appreciates the contribution of EOSC CZ representatives, which will significantly support the development of this issue at the University.
