Photographic Atlas of Plants of the Czech Republic

The first ever complete photo atlas of plants in the Czech Republic is becoming reality

The photographic atlas of plants of the Czech Republic will contain about 3100 plants in more than 9 thousand photographs. Botanists from four universities (including FSC USB), two research institutes and two museums are collaborating on it. More than 60 photographers are involved. It will be unique mainly because it will contain photographs of all wild species including important identifying features. Included will be all native species (except for the unstudied species of the golden yellow resinwort, Ranunculus auricomus agg.), commonly occurring non-native species, the most important hybrids, subspecies and varieties (most common or widespread, easily recognisable). Of the cultivated plants, only very frequently cultivated or common weeds will be included. More information here.

Now you can significantly accelerate the creation of the book by supporting the work on it through a public collection. A successful collection will confirm to us and to politicians that there is genuine interest in the book. The collection runs only until 26 July 2023.
