The Faculty of Agriculture and Technology of the University of South Bohemia has elected a candidate for the post of Dean
On 10 November 2023, the election of a candidate for the position of Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Technology of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice (FAT USB) for the period 2024–2028 took place. This election was an important moment for the academic community of the faculty, which had the opportunity to decide on the future leadership and direction of the institution. Based on the vote of the FAT USB Academic Senate, the candidate for the position was the current Dean of the Faculty, doc. RNDr. Petr Bartoš, Ph.D. He was elected unanimously, receiving 15 votes out of 15 possible. The Dean is appointed by the Rector on the basis of a proposal of the Academic Senate of the faculty.
With the full support of the faculty's academic community, doc. RNDr. Petr Bartoš, Ph.D., will have the opportunity to continue to expand and improve the quality of study programmes, support research and innovation and strengthen cooperation with other institutions and the industrial sector. His election represents continuity and stability for the faculty, which is crucial for achieving a high level of education and scientific research at the USB Faculty of Agriculture and Technology.
doc. RNDr. Petr Bartoš, Ph.D.
Doc. RNDr. Petr Bartoš, Ph.D., (44) graduated from the Faculty of Education of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice and then obtained his Ph.D. at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of Charles University in Prague. In 2013, he habilitated at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in the field of Materials Science and Engineering and started working at the USB Faculty of Agriculture as the head of the Department of Agricultural, Transport and Handling Technology. In the years 2017–2020, he was the Vice-Dean for Quality of FAG USB. He has been the Dean of the USB Faculty of Agriculture and Technology of JU since April 2020. He lives in Lišov with his wife Ladislava and they are raising five children together. He devotes all his free time to his family. He enjoys everything to do with computers and likes to read books on the border between philosophy and theology. Playing chess is one of his long-term hobbies.
